Tennis Post Ground Sockets

Each variation of the sockets above serve the function of securing your tennis posts to the court surface. Each socket is manufactured from a high quality, long-lasting steel (90mm). There are three options available. The first is a Standard Square Post Ground Socket with plastic caps. The second is the Standard Round Post Ground Socket with plastic caps. The third is the Flip Top Square Ground Socket with a metal flip top lid.

Specifications

All sockets are sold in pairs as standard. Each type of socket is 360mm deep, fits 76mm tennis net posts, round or square.

Materials

Each type of socket is made from 90mm Square Steel.

Installation

The installation of the ground sockets is a relatively specialist area that will require consulting with your Groundsman or court constructor. Before you start you need a concrete block of 70cm x 70 cm, again this is worth consultation as it will depend on your ground surface and condition. When you are actually installing the sockets it is advised that they are placed at a 1-4 degrees off completely vertical from the tennis net. This will be beneficial over time as it will prevent the posts from tilting inwards when the tennis net is tightened.

Please ensure a hole is drilled into the base plate of the ground socket to ensure there is a sufficient channel for the water to drain away when it rains.

The standard ground sockets have rubber caps that are removed when the posts are inserted in. The flip top lids however can be hinged to one side when the posts are fitted. This enables the lids to be closed over the socket for a tidy appearance should the posts ever be removed. The lid itself is made from a galvanised steel.
